Introduction to Lightning App

FactoryFour’s operator-optimized Lightning App is built using the same platform that our FactoryFour web application uses.


FactoryFour’s operator-optimized Lightning App is built using the same platform that our FactoryFour web application uses. This means that any changes made to tasks on the FactoryFour web app and reflected onto the Lightning App, enabling you to easily utilize the entire capabilities of the FactoryFour platform. This article will provide you with an overview of the all-new Lightning Application.

Overview

Review our article “How to Set Up your Workstation” in order to set up the Lightning App on your tablet. Once you’ve completed the setup process, the Lightning App will display a “Welcome” screen.

This “Welcome” screen provides the user with the following:

  1. A barcode to “Connect a Scanner” to the workstation when scanned
  2. A “Log In” button to enable the user to manually log in to the workstation
  3. The ability to preview tasks by selecting tasks through the task backlog
    1. In order to complete any action, the user will have to log in first before any action is taken
  4. The ability to view all users associated with the organization
    1. Selecting on a user enables the user to preview the tasks that the user is checked into or preview task progress

Workstation Dashboard

The workstation dashboard is the home for your workstation. It enables the users to quickly view all the tasks that they are currently checked into, the ability to connect/disconnect a scanner, and the ability to quickly log out of the workstation by scanning a logout QR code.

The workstation dashboard will also be where the user can:

  1. Manage task backlog filters: All admin users will have the ability to select the “settings” button to manage their scanner settings and adjust their task filters
  2. View User Activity: The dashboard provides the user with the ability to view all users that are connected to the workstation
  3. Connecting / Disconnecting your Scanner: A bluetooth scanner can be connected before or after logging into the workstation by scanning the barcode on the workstation dashboard

Task Backlog & Task Details

The Lighting app is designed to be Operator-focused so the task backlog is even clearer and more user-friendly. The user is able to quickly navigate through a sorted task list by selecting each task card to view all the task details.

The task details view enables the users:

  1. View additional task details including the workflow, order id, and additional task notes including work instructions
  2. Check-in/check-out of a task
  3. Move the task to a complete or error status
  4. Update task quantity using a mobile-optimized quantity component
  5. Directly update any details needed for the task’s work instructions
